TRAI brushes aside the claim of the private operators on call drops.:-TRAI has refuted the claim of the private operators on the call drop issue. The private operators have claimed that the decision of the TRAI for payment of compensation to customers, for call drops, will have a huge financial implication for them. They have stated that the expenditure on this account would be to the tune of Rs.54,000 crore per annum. However the TRAI has rejected this claim. It has stated that the financial implication will be less than Rs.200 cross per quarter and has also stated that this will be less than 1% of the total revenue of the telecom operators.
